Post True Combat server for OA LAAAAAG
It seems unusual that I will have lag on my server at Escapedturkey since the server is in Texas and I am in Oklahoma on Cox internet, my ping to my own server that I am paying for here is 221
Pinging at 221, there must be a problem, If there is a suggestions on a server config that can help, that would be great, otherwise I am thinking that it might just be on the server side as it would not let me change my password or extract .zip files

I tried using the 64 bit executable but it didnt work, if there is a way you can make the 64 bit server work I think it would help, but you may need to install other software on the server thus effecting other users.

A ping of 221 is high. I'm near Buffalo, NY & I ping my Dallas servers ~68ms. I'd say trying pinging google, yahoo or microsoft. Also, try a traceroute. In your command console (start - run - command.com) type "tracert ###.###.###.###". The #'s are your ip address. That could tell you where you're getting all the lag. Also, if you're plugged in to a router vs the cable modem, try plugging directly in to the modem & see if that works.

Please join your server and type the following:

/rcon sv_maxclients

and

/rcon sv_fps

and

/rcon sv_maxrate

Please let us know the #'s it returns to you.

Please let us know what mod you are using, if any.

Please let us know if you are using any form of 'unlag or antilag' option enabled.

Please let us know if you have PunkBuster enabled. If so, is it checking cvars? Are screenshots enabled?

Also, please do the following, when the server is busy:

cg_lagometer 1 or /cg_lagometer 1 or /cg_drawlagometer 1

Please let us know if you see red and/or yellow spikes.

Please provide us your IP address: http://whatismyip.org

Download, install, and run Ping Plotter:

http://www.pingplotter.com/downloads/pngplt_1.exe

Enter the following information:

Address To Trace: IP address of your game server
# of times to trace: 10
Trace Delay: 1 Second
Samples To Include: 10

Click "Trace"

After it is finished, please choose "Edit - Copy Text" and paste the results here.

We also strongly recommend that you try the freeware versions of the following programs sequentially:

http://www.superantispyware.com

http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html

Full / deep scans may take a few hours but they are very useful.

These will help remove the possibility of a client-side issue. :cool:
